New Year Updates!

I’ve had so much good writing news in the last couple months, I thought I’d share it here.

— I’m so excited to announce that the launch party for After the Tour will be held at Verbatim Books, in San Diego’s North Park, on February 23rd! Come through to this cool bookshop for drinks & snacks & poetry. I’m so excited to be joined by my friends, the fabulous poets Karla Cordero and Sheila McMullin, who’ll be reading from their collections as well.

— Check out this very dope review of After the Tour in Kenyon Review Online! I was so moved by Kristina Marie Darling’s generous reading of my poems, and the way she placed them into conversation with Gillian Cumming’s new collection. “By delving into the minds and hearts of those individuals our culture frequently speaks for, Minniti-Shippey creates a poetics of empathy and resistance, challenging the belief that storytelling is one more ‘thing to master.’”

— The brand new issue of Poetry International is here! And it’s gorgeous. And clocking in at over 750 pages, it’s a steal of a deal for a year (or two!) worth of poetry. Copies shipping now from San Diego, and available at bookstores and libraries around the country.

— I’ve  been invited to be a Preliminary Judge for the Berkshire Prize for a First or Second Book of Poetry, from Tupelo Press! Send in your submissions, because I want to read your poems, and then forward them to the final judge, the amazing Oliver de la Paz.

— Finally, we’ve got some great work up on Poetry International Onlinewith more on the way. Check out the new translations of Francesc Parcerisas and the conversation on Deaf Poetics with Josephine Dickinson.
